Once restore is selected, you should be able to move the window. If the “Move” option is greyed-out, you’ll need to select “Restore” first. Once the window begins to appear on the screen you can then usually use the mouse to move the window. Click Move and use the arrow keys to position the application in the visible area of the screen. (In XP you do not need to hold down shift.) You should get a menu with an option to “Move” the window. If you still can’t see the window then hold down SHIFT and right-click the application in the taskbar. In Windows 7, the “Show Desktop” button is cleverly hidden to the right of the clock/systray on the taskbar. This will often bring the open windows back onto the screen. There are a couple of ways to resolve this problem.įirst, try clicking the “Show Desktop” button a couple of times. This happens when the window opens outside of the view area of the monitor(s). I'm still able to play games, and the black screen is my only symptom. After opening an application, the program window may not be seen even though the program appears in the taskbar. I run VR on a MSI GL75 Leopard 10SFK-029. This issue is not present on my Desktop computer. The new update just glitched out the integrated Virtual Desktop in the Oculus PC application. OLD 4/25/21: I've been working with Oculus Support, but so far no amount of troubleshooting has solved the issue. But I doubt that's issue because my Rift S also has the problem. I also completely uninstalled and re-installed and am still having the issue. So far, I've restarted, repaired install, and installed latest graphics card drivers but have had no success. I have a Rift S and a Quest 2 and both have the issue. Though, I can still control the cursor with my controller. I can manually go to View\Navigation Pane\Show all folders and this will then display my shortcuts in File Explorer. These shortcuts show up on the actual desktop of any user. I made a video tutorial for the solution for anyone confused. Changing the preferred processor in Nvidia Control panel for OVRServer_圆4.exe does NOT solve the issue, although I thought it would effectively accomplish the same thing.

The dashboard/OVRServer doesn't utilize the GPU while in use. My games still run fine using this method, since they still use the GPU. At least, that's what's selected under "Power Saving" for my PC. It seems this method forces Intel(R) UHD Graphics to render for OVRServer_圆4.exe. UPDATE: Solution found by Hansaplastique! THANK YOU!
