Most of it is stuff the game should do out of the box as you connect roads. It's nothing that can't be fixed, but it requires modding and some very tedious lane connection micromanagement that gets annoying fast as you build up your city. Unfortunately this design choice is not something Colossal Order will be able to rectify without building an entirely new game (but I look forward to that game if they ever do).Īnother sore point in C:S is the traffic simulator's rather wonky behaviour. In that respect, Colossal Order clearly made the wrong choice for a lot of people, just like Maxis did when they made the same poor choice for SC2013. That said, SC4 still is the better game purely because of scale, as said before by others.Ĭ:S was clearly designed with flavour trumping scale in mind (whereas SC4 did the reverse), but because SC4's modding community is so big it ends up providing both while C:S offers only the flavour and none of the scale. And a lot of the reviews says the game was lacking visible feed back on why certain things were happening? but they never mentioned anything about how interactive you are with your people. Or the casino, private prison, or animal testing lobbyist wanted to build casinos, maximum security prisons, science facilities that would negatively affect commercial zones and tourism?Ĭause I watched a couple of reviews where they said you can zone certain districts and set individual district ordinances. like Greenpeace Hippies wanting to ban all industries, while they Industrial lobbyist wanted to build Nuclear Power plants and Toxic Waste processing factories in your cities. there were constant petitioners / lobbyist asking you to invoke different city ordinances, fighting over different things. So yeah I am also curious about this game.ĭoes it have a more in depth political / management feel to it other than just the city building and traffic management? Like is there any interactions with your people? Like in Sim City 3000 and Sims City 4. though i wouldn't have paid the full price for this game to be honest. but the traffic system is definitly worth it.

So in my opinion it's not as good as it should have been.

or the necessity for countless crematoriums and graveyards in your tiny block city.

most of the time everything runs well, and then suddenly all citizens get sick and the traffic jams in front of the hospital. multiple curved elevated extra lanes only for specific directions? no problem.Īnd i think the problem managing is a little bit silly in skylines. you have so much flexibility when you have to expand your road system, its a dream. you are not able to build realistic metropoles.īut what i really love about skylines is the traffic system. on a large map you can build on your city almost forever. despite some of its flaws.įirst off all: the regions. I have played quite a lot of sim city 4, and i think it is a better game.
